Elizabeth (Liz) Ottosen
Receptionist
Liz’s path to working in the recovery field started with her own battle against alcoholism. After over 30 years of struggling, Liz found hope and healing through sobriety and recovery. In the spring of 2020, she completed a 30-day Detox residential program and continued her treatment journey through outpatient services. Inspired by the positive changes in her own life, Liz began working in the recovery field just a year into her sobriety. Since then, she has worked in various levels of care, from Detox to outpatient, and has earned her certification as a Peer Counselor.
Now working at SFRC as a Receptionist, Liz’s main focus is to help others through the recovery process by welcoming them into the space with warmth and compassion. She strives to be a bright light of hope for anyone who walks through the door, sharing her experiences and encouraging others to reach for their best selves. Liz is about to celebrate five years of sobriety and continues to work on finding balance between her personal recovery and helping others. Outside of work, Liz enjoys finding peace through self-care and service, living by the philosophy that life is about more than just the good times—it’s about learning to navigate the struggles as well.
