Medically managed withdrawal, also known as drug detoxification, is a medical intervention used to gradually remove harmful substances of dependence from the body. We decided to build our detox program at Spokane Falls Recovery Center after repeatedly hearing about our patients’ negative experiences in detox facilities. We have put together a team of the most respectful, professional, compassionate, qualified professionals in the field. And we have made it our life’s work to help people up from their lowest of lows. Feel free to contact us with any questions about our detox programs by calling 844.962.2775 or reaching out to us online.
A Tolerable Withdrawal
At Spokane Falls Recovery Center, we have found that a precise and gradual removal of harmful chemicals from the body allows a gradual, manageable return of a person’s consciousness. In order for a person to become open to healing, certain chemical barriers need to be carefully removed.
Medication Management Matters
We understand that different drugs have different results for different people. Attending a substance abuse treatment program might feel intimidating, but it isn’t a punishment. Our medical team has a deep understanding of the complicated nature of drug interactions, and we need to be able to gain a full understanding of a patient’s symptoms. This ability allows us to provide assistance determining which medications are needed and whether the dosage needs to be adjusted. We provide detoxification assistance for all drugs, but the following combinations are some of the most common:
- Problematic opioid and cocaine/methamphetamine use
- Problematic alcohol and opioid use
- Combining alcohol with opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants
- Problematic opioid and benzodiazepine use
- Problematic benzodiazepine and stimulant use
Medical Detox Is Not a Permanent Solution
While medical detox is definitely a more comfortable experience than detoxing without assistance, we understand that keeping people comfortable for a few days won’t help them stay sober in the long term. Detoxing at Spokane Falls Recovery Center offers a smooth transition into the treatment programs that have helped so many of us get back the lives we thought we’d lost. Highlights of our detox program include:
- Precise, adaptable medication adjustments
- Alleviation of severe withdrawal symptoms
- Safe and secure transition to treatment
What Sets Our Detox Programs Apart?
Patients in our detox program are greeted with compassion, integrity, and respect. We strive to assure each patient that they are not alone. Accepting help for chemical dependency is often one of the most difficult decisions a person will make in their lifetime. Our staff will gladly complete paperwork, gather information as needed, and make necessary phone calls to help ensure the process runs smoothly. We have made it our life’s work to help guide people out of the despair, confusion, and hopelessness of addiction.
How Long Does Detoxification Take?
The length of a person’s detoxification period must be individualized to accommodate the patient’s unique medical and psychological situation. Length of stay is based on medical necessity. A typical detox stay is approximately 4-7 days. What makes us stand out and above other detox and residential programs is that we truly take a holistic approach to individual care and step individuals down according to ASAM criteria. We believe that the following characteristics help our staff exceed expectations:
- Competence
- Respect
- Accessibility
- Patience
- Compassion
- Dedication
What Is Your Intake Process?
Prior to admission, a pre-admission inquiry and comorbidities (PAIC) screening is performed and sent to the medical director for review and approval to make sure that the individual is appropriate for services at Spokane Falls Recovery Center.
